Searching in Multiple Languages

Cuidado con las lenguasYou will be conducting research in two languages, searching for terms in both English and Spanish. Make sure you know the English & Spanish equivalents of your search terms, and use the appropriate language for your database.

Example: Searching for "Mayas" in an English-language database may find you articles about Maya Angelou -- but searching for "Mayans" will find you information about the Meso-American civilization. 

Step 1: Background Info

Your first step is to find background information on your topic. Reading general articles on it will help you identify key terms and ideas to research in more depth. The resources on this page are designed to provide you with overviews and general information.
